Ok.... Turners Syndrome is a genetic issue that can affect any unborn FEMALE fetus. It is usually detected between weeks 9 and 17 by ultrasound by locating a cystic hygroma on the fetus. A cystic hygroma is a fluid like sack ranging in size(s) and is full of chromozones. The Turners Syndrome does NOT affect MALE fetus' only FEMALE. There are numerous genetic issues that can affect a FEMALE with Turners Syndrome such as, the typical female has XX chromosones, having XX chromosones allowes a females to reproduce, have a period etc... Turners Syndrome usually they only have X (1 X) they will never have a period, if they do it is very rare, they cannot have biological children because at a very young age they loose all of the eggs they are born with. Chris there are technical terms and other ways when I get home ill get into more detail. Usually, Turners babys have either hear or kidney issues or both.... have to be followed by cardiologists, endocronologists, OB's, kidney doctors usually once a year just to make sure everything is okay for the rest of thier lives. They are usually very short in stature, can have low set ears, a very low hair line, possible webbed neck from a cystic hygroma..... *sigh* however it is very inportant to know that anybody can give birth to a Turners syndrome baby and that 90% of them dont even make it to birth, those that do are lucky, I AM LUCKY!!! Theres a start!! Love ya hun!!
